SUP Yoga assistants

To maintain accreditation and registration with the ISYA, SUP Yoga assistants must maintain a minimum of 15 hours of assisting/supporting a SUP Yoga instructor per year. Continuing education  hours should be completed within 12 months starting from the initial date of registration with ISYA.

ISYA SUP Yoga instructor

SUP Yoga Instructors Level 1 and Level 2

To maintain accreditation and registration with the ISYA, SUP Yoga instructors must maintain a minimum of 20 SUP Yoga teaching hours within 12 months starting from the initial date of registration with ISYA. Yoga teaching or Stand Up Paddleboard teaching on their own do not contribute towards the ISYA minimum continuing education hours.

SUP Yoga instructor trainers

SUP Yoga instructor trainers must complete a minimum of 3 SUP Yoga instructor trainings within 12 months to maintain accreditation and registration with the ISYA. The ISYA will consider applications for extensions based on an individual basis. For extensions, please contact the ISYA directly. SUP Yoga instructor trainers must also maintain continuing education hours as per SUP Yoga Instructor level 1 and level 2 requirements.

  • Reading SUP Yoga articles in a magazine or online
  • Contributing to written articles on SUP Yoga
  • Accessing information online specific to SUP Yoga
  • Attending a SUP Yoga demo day/conference

Keep a log of all SUP Yoga practice and education hours.
Contact hours can be verified by a SUP Yoga school, training centre or another SUP Yoga instructor, water sport centre or by keeping a record of SUP Yoga participants during SUP Yoga classes.
The ISYA does not require verification of continuing education hours to be uploaded during registration renewal, however the ISYA can request evidence of validated hours during impromptu member continuing education reviews.
